This is a stress project I did for an psychology class and I am excited to be sharing it with you guys. I hope you find this information as helpful as I did.
Stress is defined by Oxford dictionary as “a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or demanding circumstances.” Stress can be caused by personal, social, environmental factors, or high demands on work or education.
Everyone deals with stress. It is inevitable. But everyone deals with stress in different ways. Some talk to friends about it. Some engage in relaxation to relieve some of the stress. Some ignore it and don’t deal with it at all, which can lead to serious consequences, such as, health/mental health problems, substance abuse or burnout.
In this project, I will talk more about stress and its causes. I will also talk about stress responses, stressful life events, stress and its impact on health and different ways to cope with stress. Lastly, I will talk about different ways to manage stress, such as, relaxation, exercise and support from friends, family, and professionals.

Stress happens to all of us, but it’s the way we handle it that determines its impact on our lives. Stress can lead to many negative thoughts and behaviours but it could also act as a motivator to get things done.
The techniques in this package can be very beneficial, but it will take some time for it to start showing the effect and improvements in our lives. Not all of the techniques are for everyone. If one doesn’t work or doesn’t fit into your daily life, try another.
But you don’t have to deal with the stress alone. Good friends will be there for support and encouragement. You can also seek professional help.
Stress sucks; but there are ways to handle it and also turn it into something positive.
